Place important documents in plastic, scan extra copies, or keep them in a safe space.

• Inspect the backflow system

This keeps sewer water from contaminating the area. It should be checked by a trained professional to ensure safety precautions are up to date. 

• Remove leaves and debris from gutters

The gutters should be cleaned regularly so that rain water can flow.
